my neighbor has lived across the street from me for at least5 years now. i see him every so often walking home from school with his little brother and sister. i used to go to his house and read books and play with legos and have dinner. that was a while ago. i found out recently he is schizophrenic and bi-polar. he does not have friends. he really can't be alone with strangers- it sets something off inside of him and he goes crazy. his mom has to go to school with him a lot of the time because of this. i see him standing outside his house. it's 20 degrees outside. he wears a huge puffy blue jacket complemented by a scarf and galloshes. he holds a stick in one hand. he shouts "hi, alie" and i say "hey peter, hows it going?" he looks at me with his huge blue eyes and shaggy blond hair and he smiles a great big smile. he runs back into his house. he is in 3rd grade.
