damn you, fruit on the bottom yogurt. way to ruin yogurt-kind for everybody.

anyway,

today was one of the most amazing comparative lit classes i've ever sat through. i laughed, i cried, i hurled. oh wait, no i didnt. but really, it was an amazing class and an amazing experience. last night we read "the circular ruins" by jose luis borges. we didn't really talk about the story, we just talked about infinity and fate and life and reality and existance. i found these statements to be incredibly thought provoking and relevant...i hope you do too.

how are we aware of our existance?
"i think, therefore i am"- the ability to change certain situations in our life because we are intellect. to be able to take a circumstance and alter it.
the only thing you know is what you percieve
as soon as you question your awareness, you question your existance
humans need to see the parameter of existance BIRTH-->DEATH. humans need finite. humans are not capable of coping with and grasping the concept of infinity.

for the 872948 time nikki and i related class to donnie darko. and what i believe is this: a person is aware of his existance. the perception of life, reality, is each his own. it does not matter whether he exists in the context of a society or a world or even a family. the important thing is that he recognizes his reality and his life. because the purpose of life is to live for yourself. to complete yourself. to be happy. and what about after life ends? death? its so exciting to think about the possiblities in the unknown.

its things like this that make me know its going to be all right.
