the weekend has been tough. a lot because i should be studying a lot more than i actually did. i do sort of surprise myself with how motivated i am to study and do well and get lots of work done. i am very much enjoying learning here. my current musical...thing that i am digging alot...is definitely the anniversary. that song..'the heart is a lonely hunter' is just damn awesome. it just hits me in the right spot. which is nice for a change. i have been listening to a little too much ani this week...and i mean, you KNOW what that will do to a girl. it's the wrong mood for me at this point.

i had a pretty wonderful day yesterday. and this time the adjective 'wonderful' actually fits. for some reason it is perfectly associated with snow for me...but anyway. tom, emily and i stayed up till 4ish...but i got a massage out of it, so that was great. thenn in the morning, emily and i decided we had had quite enough of cds food and had to leave campus and just plain get the proverbial F out of there. we walked through downtown to le black river caf, the one and only place in oberlin that serves breakfast. and on the way, not only did was every building on the street DECKED. OUT. in christmas lights, but there were two llamas in a cage in front of some clothing store. llamas. yes. complete with christmas bows. it was intense. but nice. we waited in line for a while, then got raspberry pancake/ homemade granola and yogurt/ fruit/ milk. and orange juice. it was extremely nice.

okay, so that writing stopped a whole 24 hours ago. meaning i left the computer to move on with my life. but now i'm back. and just didn't want to erase everything i wrote yesterday. so right now...

phew. that was almost a struggle. last night i watched whale rider. i spent the entire day working and studying...so i figured i could use a break. anddd cut. i watched a really excellent fiction reading at the oberlin music caf (the place my band played), and it inspired me. we sat on terribly comfortable couches, drank hot coffee and warm oatmeal cookies. the streets were perfectly lined with snow, the moon was full, and the sky was clear, bright, and just the right amount of cold down the front of my jacket. to sum up, i would have to say yesterday was very fulfilling. currently i am motivated to go to wilder and write a paper, so i think i will. these next few weeks are going to be pretty tough, and my goal is to not get sick. if i live, i should be getting home around the 19th. but it's not time to think about that yet.
