one really really great thing about oberlin is the dating website. you get to answer all these questions about yourself, and then the computer tells you who you're most compatible with on the campus. it also gives you a compatibility list of people from wesleyan, williams, colby, and bowdoin. as it turns out, i have zero percent compatibility with robert at colby, adam at wesleyan, or my girlfriend.

but we talked about it, and i think it's going to be okay.

so i'm sitting here, eating rice with lentils, raisins, dates, and currants (don't hate until you try it, jerk) and just avoiding work. i've found myself being able to forget time more and more lately. this is probably due to my visiting yellow springs, ohio last weekend. pegah's family lives there, so emily, miriam, pegah and i stole a car and drove down last friday night. and by stole a car i mean not really. and if you've ever been to yellow springs, you know what i'm talking about [and i imagine most people haven't], but the whole town is just...love. that's how i would describe it. love. it was amazing. we went hiking through a pine needle forest, ate a picnic, saw the yellow springs (which are NOT yellow), smiled, alot, danced in the living room in the early morning, ate rice for breakfast, sang loudly, and loved. lots of love. we decided that the four of us are just about the closest group of four people you can find. well, at oberlin. among our friends. so we made a pact to always go on trips every year, no matter how old and crusty we are. so in conclusion, the trip just made me realize how important REMAINING CALM is. that i can't get uptight and nervous and stressed about time. that it's okay to walk slowly and eat slowly and be a few minutes late. in the end, it will make me a lot lot happier.

there's only about a month left of school. tomorrow night less than jake is playing in cleveland and i'm going to SEE THEM. i have a lot to do and i'm beginning to feel a little guilty about it. so i think i'll go.

i'm living though. and there's a pineapple on my desk.
