i was thinking a while ago...

and i was thinking about how very strange it will be to have to do schoolwork not for maret. i will no longer have anatomy tests to not study for, greiner homework that is only supposed to be four pages, ap spanish essays oh so relevant to life, comparative lit journals to do five minutes before class starts, history tests to memorize dates for, hundreds of pages to read before a pride and prejudice test the next day, bio labs to finish by grilling the conclusions out of mr. peterson, physics packets to complete by copying the answer sheet, race/ gender museum displays to construct in the same night as writing both math and english papers, oral reports to prepare without understanding the spanish language, history questions to answer (using the word "cuz") with brooke before we stopped having classes together, cell day projects that include gluing ramen noodles to cardboard (to make a model of the phospholipid bi layer of course), weekly vocab clubs, patterns of the periodic table to memorize, scores of musicals to memorize on drums without written music or hearing the musical, neighborhood political polls to complete and write a paper on in 8 hours, entire chapters of calc homework to finish in one night before the end of the quarter, latin, having to skim chapters (or even the whole) of the book before class (or during class) in order to pass mr. gage's quizzes, short 7 page papers for mr. estrada, to memorize the subjunctive.

well ok, i can't very well say that i won't have this again. because i'm sure i will, at least tenfold. but it just couldn't be the same. and that's the sad part.

but now i'm listening to gene krupa and buddy rich dominate the drums and last night i got to see fairly genuine maret people (chloe, robert, bergen, daniel fh) - we drank cranberry peach juice, watched old school, and had our own outdoor party in a beautiful house in the barrio. i have to clean out my room to find things to sell at our yardsale this saturday. but i don't have the heart to throw anything away, it all has sentimental value....a story attatched. this could be a big step for me, if i can actually bear to part with all my...junk.

we'll see.
