we played balderdash in the hall and i made kelly laugh so we passed around candy. i only got one point and maura had 7 even though she had gone out 20 minutes earlier and travis quickly caught up by using a clever definition including radishes. we laughed at a word meaning 'moat', but really the meaning is 'plethora.' or so it is now declared on the third floor of east. also on the third floor of east will be weekly balderdash tournaments, and there will be running scores kept. on a poster. in the hall. after a brief roommate bill of rights meeting, we headed to the bowling alley. kelly, tim, jenna, mark, lindsey (with an e), and i. i don't think his name is mark, but we'll pretend for now. i bowled a 102 and got a strike on my first roll. i am officially a bowling major at the college of oberlin and life. where the motto is 'learning and labor'. i got high fived and these lanes have automatic foot fault sensors and it was free. tim took my shoes back to the desk and when he saw the '7 1/2' on the back he laughed. i said "hey!" thinking he was making fun of my foot size. but then he said, "no, it just means you have a small penis." we walked to the observatory and observed a lot of things. mostly the staircase in line. but also mars, the planet. after looking into the telescopes we exclaimed things like, "wow that was cool," and "brilliant," and "it's out of focus." there were thousands of stars coming out as we stood up there longer and longer while the wind even got a little chilly and the night faded into the city.
